As part of Architecture Week 2026, with Switzerland as the Guest Country, the Embassy of Switzerland in Spain will organize an event dedicated to Baukultur, the Swiss approach to fostering a high-quality built environment.
The event proposes a dialogue between Switzerland and Spain on Baukultur, understood as an integrated approach to the built environment encompassing architecture, urban planning, landscape, heritage, infrastructure, and public space as essential components of sustainability and quality of life.
From this shared perspective, the discussion will address issues such as design quality, sustainability, innovation, participation, and governance, with particular attention to the role of public architectural competitions as a tool for ensuring quality, transparency, and innovation in public projects. The event will bring together representatives from public administration, architecture, academia, and the private sector from both countries to share experiences and perspectives.
